A federal indictment blames Dr. Edward Neil Feldman for three prescription drug-related deaths, but medical examiners records link to him to more than a dozen drug overdose deaths, according to the Tampa Bay Times. Three administrative complaints alleging Feldman of malpractice are pending with the Florida Board of Medicine.
In other news, a South Florida doctor is facing prison time after pleading guilty to tax evasion involving $18 million in income he failed to report for five years, the Associated Press reports.
And in another separate case, the Florida Board of Medicine has accepted Dr. Deborah Ford’s surrender of her license to practice, the Ledger of Lakeland reports. According to documents from the Board of Medicine, the relinquishment appears to stem from Ford’s treatment for alcohol dependence at a residential facility, and then an agreement she made with the medical director of Professional Resource Network, Inc.to voluntary relinquish her license.
