Doc Accused of Groping Can’t Treat Women

The Florida Department of Health has barred a South Daytona doctor accused of groping patients from treating female patients, the Daytona Beach News-Journal reports. Five women have accused Dr. Indravadan Shah, an internist, of trying to engage in sexual contact with them over the past several years.

In a separate case, a Pinellas County firefighter-paramedic and part-time emergency room nurse has been arrested for selling prescription drugs, the Tampa Bay Times reports. Authorities arrested James A. Comer, 38, over the weekend in the Northside Hospital parking lot.

Originally founded in December 2006 as an independent grassroots publication dedicated to coverage of health issues in Florida, Health News Florida was acquired by WUSF Public Media in September 2012.
