Flu Kills Woman, Two Others Critical

A Brevard County woman has died and two other people in the county are in critical condition from the flu. The unidentified woman, who was in her mid-30s, died Sunday at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, the Orlando Sentinel reports. One of the two critical patients - a pregnant woman, also in her mid-30s - is also at Holmes, while a 62-year-old man  is hospitalized at Parrish Medical Center in Titusville.  Both critical patients are on life support.

Officials said while flu season has been mild so far in South Florida, they expect cases to increase by the end of the month, according to the South Florida Sun Sentinel.  Officials encourage residents to get vaccinated against the flu.
