Florida’s top public health official said Tuesday that five Florida hospitals could receive COVID-19 vaccinations as early as next week.

Department of Health Secretary Scott Rivkees, who also serves as the state's surgeon general, gave the update during a statewide call with hospital administrators.

We spoke to Dr. Michael Koren, a cardiologist and CEO of the Jacksonville Center for Clinical Research, to get the latest on this vaccine news as the FDA prepares to give emergency use authorization to the Pfizer vaccine. The center conducts clinical trials at eight locations in Florida.
