Voters in Miami-Dade County today are considering a local referendum on whether to approve $832 million in bonds to finance construction and equipment at Jackson Health System , the Miami Herald reports (paywall alert). Increased property taxes would pay for the improvements at Jackson Memorial Hospital and urgent care centers around the county. Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Jimenez said on Sunday that Jackson needs upgrading, the Miami Herald reported, but he still has reservations about the amount of the bond issue.
