The only gun-control bill that appears to have any chance of making it through the Florida Legislature this session is one that the National Rifle Association supports, according to the Tampa Bay Times. As the Palm Beach Post reports, that bill would make it tougher for patients released from a hospital after treatment for mental illness to obtain a firearm. Under current law, only those who were treated involuntarily go on a national database that prohibits them from buying guns.
