A U.S. representative whose district includes eastern Orange County is becoming more prominent in the controversy over vaccines and autism, the Orlando Sentinel reports.

The book, "Vaccine Whistleblower: Exposing Autism Research Fraud at the CDC," which is set for release this week, includes the drama between U.S. Rep. Bill Posey, R-Rockledge, and a scientist with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Posey has worked quietly for several years with parents and others who say there's a link between childhood vaccines and the disorder -- a link that has been denounced by much of the U.S. medical community, including the CDC.

While Posey says he is "pro-vaccine," he has also suggested the CDC has covered up the alleged link.
