HCA Healthcare, a major player in Florida's hospital industry, is expected later this year to add Highlands Regional Medical Center in Sebring.
HCA on Friday announced an agreement to buy the 126-bed hospital from subsidiaries of Community Health Systems, Inc. The deal is expected to close this fall.
Highlands Regional is slated to become part of HCA's East Florida Division, which includes 14 hospitals, other types of health-care facilities and physician practices.
In all, HCA has 46 hospitals in the state, according to a company website.
