Two nursing home executives have accepted a plea deal that would ban them from ever taking Florida Medicaid or any federally funded health care payments, the Palm Beach Post reports.
MaxcineDarville and daughter JoAnne Carter ran a chain of low-rated nursing homes in Pahokee, Gainesville and Bradenton, and were charged last year for using $2.75 million in Medicaid money for lavish salaries and personal items, the Post reports. The family-owned nursing home chain has been the subject of an ongoing Post investigation since 2009.
