Florida State sought more than $413 million in bonds for the facility, which will part of a new medical campus and operated under the "FSU Health" brand by Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare.

A discussion on the future of Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare isn’t over, but during a meeting on the issue, most city commissioners agreed they want the hospital to remain locally owned.

The school would enter a long-term lease and management agreement with Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare to operate the facility under the “FSU Health” brand.

A memorandum of understanding was completed to create a governance structure for a new academic health center in Tallahassee and medical campus in Panama City Beach.
