A judge has ruled that Broward County's elections supervisor was doing enough to warn voters about a potential problem with the medical marijuana referendum on their ballots.
The National Organization to Reform Marijuana Laws sued Brenda Snipes last week after four Broward voters received absentee ballots that omitted Amendment 2 to legalize medical marijuana statewide.
The organization wanted Snipes to have to post signs at precincts and send notices to everyone receiving an absentee ballot in Broward County.
Local news outlets report that Broward Circuit Judge Carol-Lisa Phillips ruled Friday that Snipes had taken enough action to fix the problem.
The constitutional amendment requires support from 60 percent of voters to pass. A similar measure narrowly failed two years ago.
As of Friday afternoon, 119,365 Broward voters had cast ballots by mail.
