A Volusia County woman has been charged in an attempted murder-suicide after serving non-toxic toilet bowl cleaner to her two children and ingesting it herself, the Orlando Sentinel reports.

Amelia West told police that she gave the toilet bowl cleaner to the children because she wanted to send her family to heaven. According to the Sentinel, her children, a 3-month-old and a 2-year-old, were treated and released. West remains in the Volusia County jail on attempted murder charges.

Meanwhile, a 13-month-old Jacksonville girl is still in the hospital after a weekend incident involving her mother’s boyfriend, according to the Florida Times-Union.

Police initially didn’t expect foul play, but eventually charged the boyfriend, Jabier Maldonado, after doctors found multiple areas of bleeding on the child’s brain, according to the Times-Union
