Timothy Goldfarb, the CEO of UF Health Shands, will be stepping down in July, reports the Gainesville Sun. Chief Operating Officer Edward Jimenez, who was brought in 3 ½ years ago to be groomed as an eventual replacement , will serve as Interim CEO.
Goldfarb , who has led the academic health system for 13 years, oversaw the opening of the Cancer Hospital in 2009 and the closing of Shands AGH in downtown Gainesville.
