A state senate subcommittee today will start finalizing its framework for telemedicine and could vote as soon as next week, the Florida Current reports.
Sen. Aaron Bean, R-Fernandina Beach, said SB70 would provide remote physicians the same Medicaid reimbursement rate as face-to-face doctor visits. Insurance companies and providers would be allowed to negotiate the rate, according to the bill being discussed in the Senate Health Policy Committee.
The House is working on a telemedicine bill, HB751, which doesn’t address the contentious payment question.
