Researchers at University of Florida report finding a biological mechanism that links Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease.
It’s a mutation in a brain protein called tau, involved in forming the tangles that bring on confusion. The discovery, reported in a medical journal, may help in the fight against the two common devastating diseases and a host of other neurological disorders, the South Florida Sun-Sentinelreports.
