Florida has more than its share of characters, and Miami New Times writes about one of them: Reno Yohai, a 66-year-old convicted child molester, who lives in a quiet area on the border between Dade and Broward counties, sharing his home with dozens of pit bulls.
He says he’s “not quite sure” how many he owns, but a reporter counted 34 on a recent visit, all in cages. Yohai says he runs a pit bull “rescue.”
His neighbors keep complaining about the howling, the stench, and the confinement of the dogs around the clock, but officials in his town can’t do much besides impose fines.
