HCA, the state’s largest hospital chain, announced it is buying three Tampa Bay hospitals from Iasis Healthcare in a deal that should close by the end of the year, the Tampa Bay Timesreports. HCA will then own 42 hospitals in Florida and even more hospitals in Tampa Bay than the giant BayCare Health System. However, BayCare will still be the leader in market share, an HCA official said. HCA is also bidding for a public hospital in Citrus County.
