Dr. Larry Kawa, a Boca Raton orthodontist and big-time Republican fund-raiser, is paying for a dinner on Thursday for hundreds of African Americans aimed at recruiting them to the conservative cause.
Several black conservative leaders, including former U.S. Rep. Allen West and former Lt. Gov. Jennifer Carroll, are scheduled to be there.
Kawa, who founded a PAC called American Courage, said he's paying for everything himself so that the event won't be tied to the Republican party, the Palm Beach Postreports.
