To hear his dad tell it, Angus Nelson Standridge was always an active child who loved football, wrestling with his younger siblings, and playing on his trampoline.  As the Ocala Star-Banner reports, the 13-year-old is also fearless when talking about the heart pump that keeps him alive while waiting for a transplant.  A virus had attacked his heart.

Originally founded in December 2006 as an independent grassroots publication dedicated to coverage of health issues in Florida, Health News Florida was acquired by WUSF Public Media in September 2012.
