Attorney General Ashley Moody warned Floridians to be alert for scams as the federal government begins sending out money as part of a $2.3 trillion coronavirus economic-stimulus package.

Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody is cracking down on price gouging for supplies meant to help stop the spread of COVID-19. Demand has risen for protective masks, hand sanitizer, and disinfectant. That is causing some sellers to charge people excessive prices. Moody says her team has received allegations that Amazon sellers have been hiking prices more than 1,000% on items protected under Florida price gouging laws.

TALLAHASSEE --- Attorney General Ashley Moody is asking a circuit judge to reject an attempt by former Florida Coalition Against Domestic Violence CEO Tiffany Carr and a foundation that supports the organization to undo an order putting the coalition under the authority of a receiver.

Carr and the foundation are “nothing but kibitzers, seeking to insert their views into a matter that does not concern them,” Moody’s lawyers wrote on Friday.

Florida officials continue addressing the growing danger of the coronavirus.

In response to Governor Rick DeSantis signing a state of emergency declaration Monday, Attorney General Ashley Moody activated Florida's price gouging hotline Tuesday.

Castigating the tactic as a “publicity stunt,” Attorney General Ashley Moody is asking a judge to reject an effort by the nation’s two largest pharmacy chains to add 500 unidentified physicians to the state’s lawsuit against the pharmaceutical industry over the opioid epidemic.

Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody is asking a federal judge to toss out a lawsuit filed by the National Rifle Association challenging gun legislation passed after the 2018 mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School that killed 14 students and three faculty members.

The national gun-rights group challenged part of a sweeping school-safety law that raised the age to purchase rifles and other long guns from 18 to 21.

State officials say they have almost completed tests on thousands of sexual assault kits dating back five years in an effort to eliminate the backlog and help solve crimes.
