Terri Schiavo dies at her Florida hospice, 13 days after her feeding tube was removed. The brain-damaged woman had been in a persistent vegetative state since 1990 after her heart stopped. She was 41.

Her case sparked an unprecedented legal battle, with Congress, the White House and the federal courts weighing in on her case.
