By canceling Affordable Care Act subsidies for low-income Americans this week, President Donald Trump might be undermining Obamacare in some states, the Miami Herald reported.
In Florida, however, the president’s executive order would lead to a financial windfall for Obamacare insurers and better coverage options for many of the 1.4 million Floridians with an ACA plan, health policy experts say.
What’s more, the number of Floridians without health insurance is likely to remain unchanged and might even drop slightly as a result of the subsidies being canceled, according to estimates from the Congressional Budget Office and the nonprofit Urban Institute.
