Glitches Delay Launch of Smaller Sites

As often happens in a major IT project, last-minute technical problems have delayed the enrollment launch of two  federal shopping sites for health plans, one for Spanish-speakers and one for small businesses, the Associated Pressreports. The one for small businesses, called SHOP, is now scheduled for Nov. 1. Enrollment on a Spanish-speakers’ website, CuidadoDeSalud.gov, has been pushed back a few weeks, with no set date. However, the English-language Marketplace for the uninsured that the federal government will be operating in 36 states, including Florida, is still scheduled to begin enrollment Tuesday, Oct. 1, at HealthCare.gov.

Originally founded in December 2006 as an independent grassroots publication dedicated to coverage of health issues in Florida, Health News Florida was acquired by WUSF Public Media in September 2012.
