Most of the operating rooms at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola had to be shut down earlier this week because of an infestation of flying ants, the Pensacola News Journal reports. Hospital officials had to cancel several surgeries; pest control experts say insects need just the tiniest opening to get into the building.

In other bug news, the emergency room at Morton Plant North Bay Hospital in Pinellas County had to be sterilized after bed bugs were discovered Thursday morning, the Tampa Bay Times reports.
