Two Florida State University professors have received $400,000 to examine how Hurricane Michael impacted birth outcomes in the Florida Panhandle as a result of infrastructure damage and exposure to carbon monoxide.

Florida State University came under scrutiny when a student began a Twitter thread calling out what she says is a lack of accessibility for disabled students on campus.

Florida State University’s College of Medicine has opened its new Primary Health Center, in sight of Sabal Palm Elementary School.

"The way I'm defining it at least, which includes friends and partners. Most people tend to know a victim. Maybe they disclose to them or not. But most people will tend to know a victim or survivor," Rivera said.

Florida State University is considering whether to open a primary care clinic near Sabal Palm Elementary school. The move would give students in the university’s medical school clinical experience.

FSU Expands Suicide Prevention Efforts

Florida State University is expanding its suicide prevention program, with a $306,000 dollar grant from the US Department of Health and Human Services, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. The program aims to enable the entire campus community to identify and intervene with students in distress.

Florida State University football fans who go to the game this weekend can bring their guns — if they have a concealed weapons permit and they keep them locked in their cars, the school said Wednesday, the day after being sued for a policy that bans guns on campus.

  A Florida State University student who wants to bring her gun to this weekend's football game sued the school Tuesday over a policy that bans legal gun owners from locking their firearms in their cars while in the stadium cheering on their team.

A Florida lawmaker has filed a bill that would allow concealed weapons on college campuses, the News Service of Florida reports. State Rep. Gary Steube, R-Sarasota said he had already planned to sponsor the bill before last month’s shooting incident at Florida State University. According to the News Service, an attempt to allow concealed weapons on campus was also filed in 2011, but the measure was defeated.
