The Florida Policy Institute ranked each county in the state for children's wellness. Overall, the state saw improvements across the board.

The Florida Policy Institute's latest push comes after data shows Florida removed 408,000 people from its Medicaid rolls since April. Only Texas has surpassed Florida's numbers.

The state ranks 31st after three years in the 35th position. The Florida Policy Institute says outcomes are positive, but there is still work to be done.

Some worry the measure could lead many people to avoid care. The bill requires hospitals that accept Medicaid to ask patients about immigration status and inform them that personal information won't be reported to immigration authorities.

The 2022 Florida Child Well-Being Index ranks the 67 counties based on data from the national Kids Count project. It compares child well-being on 16 indicators in the areas of economic well-being, education, health and family and community.
