In early February, when the stateannounced that five companies would be allowed to enroll frail elderly and disabled Medicaid patients in their managed-care plans, Molina Healthcare of Florida Inc. and Humana Medical Plan Inc. weren't on the list.
They contested the decision, and on Friday, the Agency for Health Care Administration said they'll be able to participate in certain counties, the Florida Current reports.
Nursing home patients and other ill old and disabled Medicaid patients will begin managed-care enrollment in August in the Orlando area, with other regions added each month through spring 2014.
