Aug 12, 2013

While in Orlando at the Disabled American Veterans national convention over the weekend, President Barack Obama noted the progress that’s been made on disability claims at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the Tampa Bay Times reports. But the shift in resources that made that progress possible left a hole in the appeals division, as the Orlando Sentinel reports. At the regional office in St. Petersburg that serves Florida veterans, there are about 21,000 appeals pending.
