DCF Wanted Boss Fired Before Bell Massacre

Administrators with the Florida Department of Children and Families had recommended that a child protection program administrator be fired after involvement in a 2013 case where a 2-year-old was killed by his mother’s boyfriend. But as the Miami Heraldreports, Yun Suk “Lee” Manchester was allowed to stay on the job after a one-month suspension, and then oversaw the case of six siblings who ended up dying at the hands of their grandfather, Don Charles Spirit, in the small town of Bell near Gainesville. Yun Suk “Lee” Manchester then resigned in the wake of the Bell massacre, the Herald reports.
