It's been a difficult week for Bayfront Health System's parent company. Shares of Community Health Systems fell 50 percent last week, and the company reported a $79 million third-quarter loss on Tuesday.

In a conference call on Wednesday, Chief Operating Officer Tim Hingtgen touted the company's Florida properties, which include hospitals in St. Petersburg, Brooksville, Dade City and Spring Hill.

“Looking at our portfolio from a geographical standpoint, Florida remains a key market with our company,” Hingtgen said.

Hingtgen said he expects to see improved revenue from Florida in the next few quarters as the busy season begins and the company makes more investments in the market.

Community Health Systems is based in Tennessee and owns 158 hospitals in 22 states.
