It’s time for the media to stop following the antics of George Zimmerman, writes columnist Gary Stein on Context Florida.
Zimmerman, of course, is the former Sanford neighborhood watch volunteer who shot a visiting teen-ager, but was exonerated after claiming self-defense. Since then he has been the subject of numerous headlines for getting in trouble.
Stein's reason for wanting those stories to go away is personal: His wife's last name is Zimmerman, and he’s tired of her having to preface everything with an explanation that she is not related to the man who shot and killed Trayvon Martin.
Stein is a retired public health officer who now volunteers as a consumer advocate.
