A former nurse anesthetist says it would be a disaster if the state approves legislation lifting physician oversight of nurse practitioners, according to a column in the Gainesville Sun. Linda Young, who is training to become an anesthesiology physician, said her previous education, training and clinical experience was not enough to handle a medical crisis. Her opinion piece says it takes both nurses and physicians together to handle the most extreme emergencies.
