Editorial Boards Decry House Plan
The Tampa Bay Times and Tampa Tribune often disagree in their editorial positions, but not when it comes to the House plan for covering some of the low-income uninsured, called Florida Health Choices.
In the past few days, at least four major newspapers in the state -- including the rivals in Tampa Bay -- have blasted the plan.
Here are links to the editorials:
--Tampa Tribune, “House bumbles Medicaid plan.”
--Tampa Bay Times Editorial: “House health plan: little care, high cost.”
--Palm Beach Post: “Go with Negron’s plan for the uninsured. House proposal is awful.”
--Orlando Sentinel: "Don't shun federal help in expanding health care" (caution: You may encounter a pay wall.)
Also, the Tampa Bay Times’ John Romano wrote a column predicting that House Speaker Will Weatherford will one day be blamed for a huge missed opportunity.
