As 2013 comes to a close, we're taking some holiday time until Jan. 2. While we won't be updating our site regularly or sending out the daily e-Alert, we'll keep an eye out for important breaking news and post it.

In the meantime, we'd like to hear from you:

Since our launch in March 2007, we have posted summaries and links to the best stories from other publications each day. But now most of the state's major newspapers have paywalls; that means our readers can't get to the stories we link to. We've tried to compensate by writing longer summaries, but that takes more staff time. That reduces the time available for us to spend on original reporting.
