More than 208 requests for health-care related funding projects, totaling more than $172 million, had been filed and sent to the House Health Care Appropriations Subcommittee as of Tuesday.
The panel on Wednesday considered — and approved — 17 projects totaling $7,511,252. Chairman Jason Brodeur, R-Sanford, and Rep. David Richardson, the ranking Democrat on the spending panel, warned lawmakers that initial approval by the subcommittee doesn't guarantee that the projects will ultimately be included in the 2018-19 state budget.
Republicans sponsored all but one of the bills considered by the panel Wednesday.
