Health officials Wednesday said they have found another Zika case likely caused by a mosquito bite in Miami-Dade County, while the number of travel-related Zika cases continues to steadily increase across the state.

Florida now has 22 locally transmitted cases of Zika, a mosquito-borne virus that can cause severe birth defects if pregnant women get infected. Meanwhile, the Florida Department of Health reported 14 new travel-related cases Wednesday, including the first two cases in Northwest Florida's Bay County.

Travel-related cases involve people who are infected elsewhere and bring the virus into Florida. As of Wednesday afternoon, the department said the state had 382 travel-related infections, 57 infections involving pregnant women and the 22 locally transmitted cases.

The department said it continues to believe that the local transmissions of the virus are occurring in one area of Miami-Dade County
