Gov. Rick Scott is recommending a health care price transparency bill that would limit how much hospitals charge patients, Politico reports.

He cites unfair trade practice acts in the price cap bill, posted late last week on the website of his Commission on Health Care and Hospital Funding, according to Politico. Excessive charges, the proposal states, would be those that are more than 15 percent above what the facility accepts, Politico reports.

Another publication, St. Petersblog, reported last week that Scott has yet to find a sponsor for the bill in Florida’s House of Representatives.

Originally founded in December 2006 as an independent grassroots publication dedicated to coverage of health issues in Florida, Health News Florida was acquired by WUSF Public Media in September 2012.
