Jackson Health System says the Florida Department of Health denied its application to operate a trauma center at Jackson South Community Hospital by “inventing” new requirements the law does not require, the Miami Herald reports.
In its denial, DOH said Jackson lacked proper documentation, in areas such as education requirements for surgeons and nurses, and helicopter landing pad licensing, according to the Herald.
Jackson petitioned the denial on Monday, saying those claims are false and that the department invited or created requirements without notifying them, the Herald reports.
