An Orange County man was jailed Tuesday on charges of Medicaid provider fraud and unlicensed health care practice, the Orlando Sentinelreports.
Wellington Liranzo, known as "Dr. Wellington" by some patients, posed as a doctor and treated patients at Prime Care Family Health Centers in Orlando despite not being licensed in Florida, according to the Sentinel. Liranzo, who told investigators that he was a doctor in the Dominican Republic, said “Dr. Wellington” was just as an honorific title, the Sentinel reports.
