Pfizer Inc. and its subsidiary, Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, have agreed to pay $35 million in a settlement related to the promotion of the drug Rapamune, the Palm Beach Post reports.
The drug is designed to prevent the rejection of kidney transplant, but Wyeth was accused of violating consumer protection laws by misrepresenting its uses and risks, according to Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi. Florida joined 43 states and the District of Columbia in the settlement, the Post reports.
