U.S. News and World Reporthas released its annual guide to the best adult and children’s hospitals around the United States.
As usual, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami topped the category of ophthalmology. None of Florida’s children’s hospitals made the top three in any specialty category nationwide.
According to U.S. News and World Report, the top three hospitals in Florida are:
- Florida Hospital in Orlando
- Tampa General
- Shands at the University of Florida in Gainesville.
Teaching hospitals tend to have an advantage in the magazine's scoring system.
