Gov. Rick Scott isn’t giving up on his mission to drug-test Floridians who receive public assistance, the News Service of Floridareports.
A 72-page brief his lawyers filed this week with a federal appeals court in Atlanta maintains it is constitutional to test welfare applicants for the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program. Scott’s attorneys argue that participants have a “demonstrated problem with drug use,” the News Service reports.
