Trading’s the name of the game as the Legislature winds down into its final days, and hospital trauma centers, medical marijuana and telemedicine are among the cards leaders may deal.
While in-state college tuition for undocumented residents is the biggest issue still in play, the debates on the role of nurse practitioners, rules for telemedicine and number of hospital trauma centers remain unresolved, The News Service of Florida reports.
One of Senate President Don Gaetz’s top priorities needs to be settled, concerning the legalization of a strain of medical marijuana, the News Service said. He’s backing the bill sponsored in the house by his son, Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fort Walton Beach.
The session ends May 2.
