A Palm Beach Gardens physician on trial for selling steroids and hormone treatments through the Internet took the stand to say he’s just passionate about helping men increase testosterone levels so they can be healthier and live longer.
Timothy Sigman, 42, spent three days testifying last week, according to the Palm Beach Post. Another defendant is former pharmacy owner Peter Del Toro of Jensen Beach, who filled and sent out the drugs Sigman prescribed. They face nearly 40 charges related to illicit drug sales. Del Toro has not testified.
Sigman, one of the nation’s most prolific prescribers of steroids and human-growth hormones, said he prescribed them only after talking to patients on the phone, so his practice is telemedicine. He added that “every prescription I wrote was for a legitimate medical purpose.”
