Growth, Danger of Bath Salts
Authorities say bath salts and synthetic marijuana may be banned in Florida, but people are still using the highly unpredictable drugs, and they are still being manufactured in state, the Orlando Sentinel reports.
Drugs bought by undercover officers are tested and often found to contains ingredients tweaked slightly to get around federal and state laws. The Sentinel details a scary scene from West Orange County, where deputies responded to a 911 call from a mom who said five teens were “going psycho.” The investigation found they were on bath salts.
Meanwhile, a film that has earned praise on the independent film festival circuit is coming to the area that inspired the story, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports. "Not For Human Consumption" is set in Palm Beach County, where its filmmakers used to work in a synthetic drug lab.
