Research conducted at Florida Hospital Celebration Health indicated that surgeons who play video games before entering the operating room may have better performance and patient outcomes. The research was the idea of Dr. James “Butch” Rosser, an old hand at the Nintendo game Super Monkey Ball 2, as the Orlando Sentinel reports. More than 300 physicians participated, with half warming up by playing video games and half abstaining. Those who played video games for six minutes prior to the simulated surgery performed better than the non-players.
