In 2011, the Florida Department of Health knew of three patients being "treated" by Tony Bosch, Biogenesis “anti-aging” clinic owner, but it closed the investigation without even interviewing Bosch, according to reports by WSVN-TV/7 News in Miami and in Miami New Times this week. DOH fined Bosch $5,000.
Practicing medicine without a license is a criminal offense, but when the State Attorney’s Office in Miami-Dade requested information on Bosch from DOH, the agency provided only the cover sheet, the publications reported.
Now -- since Major League Baseball’s crackdown on athletes who received performance-enhancing drugs from Bosch -- a federal investigation may be under way.
