Insurers Hid Billions From Survivors, Auditors Say

According to auditors, the survivors of thousands of Floridians are owed life insurance payouts, the Tampa Bay Times reports. Total Asset Recovery Services says insurers aren’t tracking down beneficiaries, many of whom may not even know their family member had a life insurance policy -- and the companies aren’t turning over the unclaimed benefits to the state, either
