Gov. Rick Scott told Tia Mitchell of the Times/Herald bureau on Tuesday that he is very likely to support passage of "Healthy Florida," a plan devised by Sen. Joe Negron that will be discussed in committees Thursday. It is designed to accomplish the same goals as Medicaid expansion under the Affordable Care Act without using traditional Medicaid.
Among the goals are: covering roughly 1 million of Florida's lowest-income working adults and receipt of an estimated $51 billion in federal funds to cover most of the cost in the next decade.
