Attorney General Pam Bondi, stalwart critic of the Affordable Care Act since the day it was signed, says she hopes the Florida Legislature will vote no on Medicaid expansion, the Times/Herald bureau reports.
Bondi denounced Gov. Rick Scott's "surrender" last week, saying he favors accepting the billions of dollars in federal funds over the next three years to provide coverage for 1 million of the state's low-income uninsured. The Medicaid program covers certain categories of poor people, but not all; the Medicaid expansion would plug the gap.
Meanwhile, Sen. Marco Rubio from Florida is even holding out hope that the law will be repealed.
